On Thursday, Year 6 visited the Great Exhibition of the North to take place in the innovation trail. It was a
fantastic, jam-packed visit. At the Discovery Museum, we had a go at coming up with our own invention ideas
including high heels on wheels and a design for an outfit to make people fly. We also had a guided tour exploring
Stephenson’s Rocket. We visited the Mining Institute to see the amazing LEGO timeline of Northern Innovation and
had a go at virtual reality engineering. At the Lit and Phil we found out about next generation lighting. Finally, at
Future Buildings we had a chance to design our own bridge for the future. What an inspiring day out!
