On Monday we all came to school in non uniform to support the RNLI. Andy and Elliott, who are lifeguards, came to school and led assemblies for everyone to find out about this amazing organisation. The RNLI relies on volunteers and supporters to run this lifesaving service. They told us about all the different jobs they carry including, lifeguards, coastal safety, research and educational programmes and flood response! They discussed all the different dangers we could encounter at the beach, the flags and what to take to the beach to stay safe. We even learnt what to do if we found ourselves in trouble in the water – lie on your back and spread out like a starfish! It was a really informative talk which will give us the skills to stay safe! We raised £121 for this great service. Thank you!
