On Wednesday 12th June some of our governors came into school to see our creative curriculum in action. As part of Class 2’s topic “Land Ahoy!” they have been busy making pirate treasure maps giving compass directions to find it. Now they have found the treasure, at the bottom of the ocean,  they needed to find a way to bring the treasure up to the surface. The class were given some string, a plastic cup, straws, tape and some bobbins to construct a pulley for their treasure. The children came up with some brilliant mechanisms which they tested using plastic coins. Some were more successful than others but making minor adjustments to their designs resulted in a more efficient pulley!
