Eco Committee Mission Statement

E  is for energy we can save

C  is for communities we can change

O is for our world…it belongs to us!

Our After School club on Thursday have begun work on a wildlife sculpture for the school grounds. The children have started to weave sticks of willow to create a woodland creature often seen in country parks like Watergate and Derwent Country Park!

Some of the wood used is also from the school Wildlife Area. The children have found that young shoots and saplings are very bendy and so far they have bent, twisted, knotted and wrapped these green sticks to form a body frame with four legs. By the end of term we hope to have a completed, life size sculpture of a deer!
